Description stupid comic I barfed out in a few hours this afternoon (ironically I should have been studying at the time)

I have a weird relationship with my anxiety when it comes to exam season. On the one hand it makes me physically exhausted, constantly worrying and not all that keen on social interaction, but on the other hand my overactive guilt complex ('I can't do X while I should be studying') means I do get a huge amount of work done and when it actually gets to the exam it can almost help in a way - yeah I initially feel very shaky and unwell but once I actually get going the adrenaline kicks in and my brain is working at top speed which is obviously rather beneficial in a time-restricted exam. It clears my head and means I only focus on what's in front of me, something that's not helpful in many other situations. Weirdly enough exam season is probably when my anxiety levels are at their lowest - stress levels are at a high, of course, but being so preoccupied with studying means I have no time to get anxious about other things.

I know people have shared/reposted my mental illness artwork on other websites before, and while I have no problem with that - by all means, go ahead! - please don't remove my name from the bottom and wherever possible provide a link back to me, and of course tell me about it! <3

I know that feeling.. when you have something to do and you need to rest really, but you feel like until you have finished whatever it is to do you aren't allowed.  I have one of those coming up ;_;  But you're right, in a weird way, it helps.

This is absolutely amazing work, honey!
(You captured anxiety a little more playful than it appears! )
But overall, love this comic, love your work, honey!
(Relatable art you post is relatable. )

Thanks so much, I'm glad other people can relate to it! It's reassuring to know I'm not the only person who has to deal with stuff like this xD

You're so very welcome!
I certainly can.
And you're not alone!
No need to worry!

I finished my last final of High School today and there is definitely no nostalgia or sadness there :'D

I seem to end up in the opposite situation. There have only been a handful of times where I've actively studied for tests... Not sure if that's cockiness or some of my more depression-like behaviors "OTL

woo, congrats! I'm stuck with at least another two years of exams and assessments :'D

I'm fully aware that I probably don't need to study as hard as I do for my exams, and I put way too much pressure on myself to do well, but I get incredibly paranoid about 'wasting time' on recreational things nstead of spending that time studying. It's not really that healthy but it gets the job done so at least its not completely pointless.

Your 'anxiety monster' is insanely cute in this comic. I agree with what you're saying about anxiety being at its 'best' when you have things to really focus on - it's when I'm left with not much to do that my brain goes into overdrive and I start to worry about absolutely everything. If I just throw myself into something without thinking, I can deal with it - it's the throwing that's the difficult part XD

it's not that cute in real life, trust me xD
I do that too - when I had exams in January I was totally fine all the way through the assessment period but as soon as I'd finished and I had a week off to myself I just fell apart because I had nothing to focus on. That's why I'm going to try and keep myself as busy as possible this time around to stop it happening again
