Landscapes and scenery are my favorite kind of paintings/drawings/art to see because they can capture so much without directly telling you how to feel. I typically judge landscapes by how they make me feel when I see them(just the strength of the emotion, not necessarily which one), and I have to say, this is the most amazing work I have seen yet. I could stare at it for hours, it's just absolutely breathtaking. I love the way you can see the brush strokes in the grass, and how detailed the mountains are, and the shape of that boat really complements it all. It leaves a sense of mystery and curiosity.
Ah, just, really, this is one of my all time favorite paintings.
