What a great flame! Very interesting pattern, and the gradient choice really brings this image to stunning life. Very nicely composed as well. Excellent job on this!

Thank you !
This was rendered using flam3 as you tip-ed me, and it was created using a full 'reset transform' on a flame, then tweeking the parameters, unusual for me and -you- made me want to play with this saying that you quite never use random mutations

Flam3 in fact has very little difference from Apophysis renderer, the anti-alias is a bit better, and colors tent to be more 'vivid' (? not sur of the word, there is little less overlighted areas in whites, a bit more color). The best feature of flam3 to me is that i can export and make a batch that will render several images during the night, and not render then as i work aside.

And the fact to work on edit instead of mutations, very very frustrating to look and twist and look and... to get a good result, but very very pleasant to achieve it

I think for me the Flam3's best asset is tha anti-alias feature being slightly better than the Apo internal render. From 2.05B onwards, I believe the internal renderer is better than before that version, but I haven't been using any of the Beta's because they muck up my computer for some reason! So I stick to the stable version of 2.04, from which the final date was removed by Joel Faber, because there were so many complaints from people just losing everything they had built up in versions that got superceded.

I have to admit that I prefer the real versatility of UF these days! Apo ran a course with me, then one day I just felt it too restricting for what I wanted! Some people make some totally amazing things with Apo however, so it's good to still watch! This last one of yours in particular, I liked very much.
