My latest painting, vaguely inspired by a book my husband is trying to write.
Painted in acrylics.

Well, OK, I do, but that one's pretty important; this is seriously magnificent stuff. The level of calm, confident detail you use is especially striking, from the subtly-rendered scales along our cosmic Betta to the glowing nebula and the way it almost seems to hug to the top fin, and especially the gorgeous lighting effects...it all adds up to an image that FEELS cosmic as well as looks it, and I love that most of all. ^3^

Hehe, thanks! I worried that the way I lit the painting while photographing it might have ruined the space feeling a little, because the grain of the canvas is hard to notice in person and the blacks aren't as reflective as they look here. But I am glad you feel like you get the idea! I keep wanting to pain space scenes and this was a fun way to start. ^_^
