hooray, my first finished full piece in a zillion years! \o/

Its always eye opening when you go back and revisit an older work and use the newer skill you learned on it isn't it? Of the two i'd have to say for some reason i prefer the coloring on the original hair better than the revamp but that about it. In every other way the newer one is superior really shows your improvement. Well done.

Well I know I coloured it better (as in technique / skill wise) on the newer one, so maybe it's because the older one is brighter? I had a lot more light in the original, as I had her in front of a fire place somewhere off-screen. But when I redid it, I thought it'd be better if she's stealing stuff if there is less light, so I changed the lighting to something more like candle light. I can understand liking the brightness of the other one more than the muted colours in the new one, though; I went back and forth on it myself for a while.
But you're right, going back and redoing old work with the new stuff I've learned is always a little mind-blowing. When you're doing stuff day by day it's really hard to see improvement, even if you look at your old work. But when you do the same thing with new skills, it's a lot more obvious.
