Finished commission for Victoria, from Thursday's on demand stream! I got pretty carried away in a good way with this one, and part way through I realized why I liked the concept so much. I did a drawing around 2003 to 2005 of a female canine character in a red skirt twirling, and I remember really liking the drawing at the time. It's fun to revisit old concepts, even when it happens subconsciously. They are called Anthros, or Furries! Here on DA there is an entire section of art dedicated to anthro art (which is short for anthropmorphic, denoting an animal with human characteristics). Anthros can be any species, not just dogs!

That right hand is probably my favorite part of this, the way it's positioned is perfect. The addition of the moss and reflected light from the dress is the cherry on the pie. <3

Katie, your work is always beautiful ... but this is one of your best so far. The lighting, with the beams coming down like that and shining through her dress is fantastic. The way you captured her movement, the fluidity of her dance and the dress, her long hair and flowing tail are just captivating. Captivating and breathtaking.
