A pirate bear and his trusty cockatoo... watch out, he's on a plundering spree.

The glow effect on the bottom portion is spot-on, the cockatoo is adorable. And the bear's expression totally screams "Don't mess with me."

oooh the colours and contrasts are loooovely. His chest fur really looks like feathers for some reason, though. The bear turned out great, especially his expression. Completes the whole "I keel you" look perfectly 
It's interesting how you make acrylics look so much like some kind of graphite, especially towards the bottom of the piece.

Now that is awesome. It looks so dark and evil. The bear-man looks prepared to do some damage with that chain. His armor's great, and the black and orange glow of the lava, or fire or whatever's beneath him looks awesome. And then there's the cockatoo. He looks like the real brains behind the opperation, like he's pulling all the strings from his comfortable little perch.

the cockatoo looks so nice compared to him! I love the colors you chose and the lighting on his lower half is just great. I feel like it could have been brought up on to the chest a little though, just to give it a bit more flow. Otherwise it sort of draws your eye down away from him.

/parrot pedant
cockatoos are all white (or, in a few species, all-over pink or half pink/half-grey), and some have yellow feathers on their head and under their tails.
cockatiels are yellow and grey, with orange cheek patches.
