Description
“Your life is your life, don't let it be clubbed into dank submission. Be on the watch. There are ways out, there is light somewhere. It may not be much light, but it beats the darkness. Be on the watch. The Gods will offer you challenges, know them, take them. You can't beat Death but you can beat Death in life, sometimes. And the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. Your life is your life, know it while you have it. You are marvelous, the Gods wait to Delight, in you.”
(The Laughing Heart by Charles Bukowski)
I've had this picture for a while now and didn't know what to do with it. Then I read (The Laughing Heart by Charles Bukowski) and It made me think of this picture. A little story for Max and Sarah is starting to form in my mind. Basically an older Max I'm thinking some time in his 40s. Walks through an abandoned village one day. There are signs of battle, broken carts and stalls and a few burnt down houses. During his investigation he finds a little girl called Sarah, who is the only survivor of a Gnoll attack. And Max being Max feels the need to help her. Kind of a cornball idea I know but I've always been a cornball in real life.
