I'M BACK!!
I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted on deviantArt, and I do sincerely apologize for not being active! I've been away these past months overseas, so it's been hard to keep track and active, but I'm back, and back for good 
This was a really fun piece to do, especially because it marks something I've been trying to do for quite some time -- a cross of my watercolour and digital work! It's an experimental style still in the works, so please do feel free to let me know your thoughts!

Hey man, no prob. I'm inactive as crap. Personally, holding inactivity against you would be an act of mass hypocrisy. Anyway. Nice drawing! Love the white bits here. They really stand out - makes the entire picture look like it's glowing, kind of. Also, that background is absolutely beautiful. It's like... a nebula. Now that I think about it - glowing white in a galaxy surrounding by colorful wisps that look like clouds of stardust. It's like watching the birth of a star here.

Thanks a tonne pal! The white bits were honestly such a pain to do. When you don't have masking fluid and all you can manage to do is utilize reverse-whites, arghhh!!

Oh my god just thinking back to it makes me shiver a bit. Especially when you're painting reverse whites without using masking fluid... oh my god those birds... hahaha. HAPPY THOUGH

What paper do you use with watercolor so that it doesn't fold up/buckle when you apply tons of water?

I use a 300 gsm watercolor paper, which is suitable to avoid buckling. However, it DOES warp a little bit (only papers around 600gsm can 'really' take washes), so the best way to avoid that is to stretch it!

Your use of positive and negative space in all of you artworks is amazingly on point and has increadible consistency throughout all of your work! The colours you use are very minimalist, but the use of opposite colours compliment each other and makes your art pop! You make everything you create just /bleed/ with emotion! Great job!

I've lately become really fond in experimenting with negative space and the effects it can create, as well as a heavy focus on using colour palettes to accompany eachother to establish harmony and key colours
