Oh I saw that one.

I wonder what happened with Jamie's actor to make them replace him for a serial? Also I never noticed how much of a bumbling wimp Number 2 is until I saw him with Number 3. Number 1 will always be considered Badass to me, simply because William Hartnell was literally dying at the time of the 10th anniversary and yet he STILL managed to pull off a perfect performance. It doesn't matter one bit to me that he was a racist Jew Hater, I mean he got along famously with his costar who played his granddaughter, who was also Jewish.

Damn, Doctor Who gets long after a while. Tom Baker is actually taking me forever to watch, I think I'm on the serial after the Brain of Morbius. And I only watched the first episode of that before I decided I needed a break, and that was maybe a month ago now. What's taking me so long with it is, I was an idiot and tried watching ALL of the serials. Those stills get tiresome after a while.

If I hadn't eventually decided to say Fuck it and read the Wiki pages for some of the Missing Episodes, I'd still be on Pertwee by now. AND I JUST WANT TO SEE MATT SMITH ALREADY!!!

Wait, you're starting all the way from the beginning? Yowzers, that's dedication. I mean, if you're prepared to do that, more power to you, but you might want to take the easier route and just start with the 9th Doctor, then go back and catch up with old Who later. They knew that starting the series up 15 years later was going to mean a lot of new fans were coming in, so it's actually a really good jumping-in point. Granted if you've watched the originals you'll be able to pick one or two of the subtle references they make in the new series, but you really can start with Christopher Eccleston and not get lost. Quite aside from anything else there's a large chronological gap between the 8th and 9th regenerations and we still don't know exactly what went on there (although the new series has built up a detailed picture out of vague hints and implications...)

Well the only reason I'm starting from the beginning is because of David. He DID grow up with the show, and (don't confirm or deny anything) but I just have this strange feeling that there are A LOT of subtle references with him. And yeah, I do love call backs, which is another reason I'm watching the series.

However, the prime reason I'm watching Doctor who is because of Matt Smith. Believe it or not, he's technically my first Doctor. The first time I even heard of Doctor who was from a BBC commercial I saw a while ago, I think it was during Matt's very first episodes even. The commercial just looked cool and I really wanted to see it. However I didn't even learn what the show was until a couple years later.

To be honest, at the time I just thought the commercial was promoting some documentary, the commercial WAS on SyFy after all.

And, yeah, I actually ended up skipping the Brain of Morbius. It's the first complete serial that I actually skipped. Mainly because it was just boring to me. However when ever I do skip a serial now, I check the wiki to make sure there are no references to that serial at a later time, even if it's just a few seasons later. I do however make sure to read the plot summary on the Wiki before actually starting the next serial, mainly because the old series is just a bastard at making itself look like one long continuing story.

When doesn't he lose it? Haha. It's like Eleven with his fez. Matt Smith did Pat Troughton a wonderful service by basing his Doctor on the Second Doctor.
