River City Girls got announced recently, and while I'm not all that familiar with the River City franchise (or the Kunio-kun franchise, whichever you prefer), that trailer had me sold immediately. So much so that I had to draw those two main characters in some kind of situation.

I just think the aesthetic of the game looks rad.

Me being easily influenced aside, I'm actually really happy with how this turned out. I like the expressions and that I drove myself to use more preset brushes for extra details.

Though there was a point where the background outlines were way thicker than the characters' and it looked all out of wack, but I fixed it with time.

I do need to get better with gradients, though. I do wish I could make that sunlight stronger somehow.

P.S. I snuck in a visual reference to the original River City Ransom. See if you can spot it.
