Personality: Tartarus is careful with everything he does - every movement, sentence, look (or lack thereof) is calculated in advance. Generally closed off and hard to provoke, Tartarus can be a very hard person to interact with unless you know his particular way of "speaking". He seems to be selectively mute, and will often revert to sign language if the other person knows it. If they dont, he'll simply manage like he always has.

- Flexible: A learned trait, and a necessity due to his constant traveling. He must be flexible in order to adapt his own behaviors to the customs of whatever area he finds himself in.
- Observant: Another learned trait, Tartarus quickly learned how to take in everything he possibly can.
- Wise: Traveling around dimensions has given Tartarus a breadth of wisdom beyond his years, and he has no problem sharing with whoever needs it.
- Conservative: Very reserved, the teachings of Stranger has led him to keep his own expression to a minimum around those he isnt familiar with.
- Slow to Act: Tartarus is the type to put too much thought into everything, to consider all possible options available and choose the one he thinks would benefit the most people. It makes him great at chess, but horrible in situations that need quick thinking.

[ BACKSTORY ]
As a child Tartarus was extremely aggressive, often lashing out at whoever comes near out of defensive fear. Most who knew him from that time would often liken him to a cornered animal. He lost his parents to an unknown incident early on, and wandered the streets of Ato until he was taken by one of the large Corporations to be used as a test subject.

They installed an experimental device into the back of his head, where it attached to his brain through the foramen magnum. Tartarus escaped halfway through rehabilitation and managed to make his way out of Ato and into the surrounding area. During that time Tartarus managed to reopen the mostly healed wound trying to get the device out and it quickly grew infected. After about a week someone found him, sick and barely strong enough to give a weak effort to ward off her efforts to pick him up. This stranger nursed him back to health, and when he asked her for her name she simply smiled.

Tartarus ended up calling the woman Stranger. As he healed he watched her and her ways. She was gentile, kind, and held a deep sadness in her soft words. Gradually, he grew to trust her, and for the first time in what seemed like forever he felt safe. Stranger raised him, taking up many names in his mind - Stranger, Teacher, Guardian, Mother. She taught him her ways with a gentile hand, and eventually the raging fire in him was tempered down to a controlled flame.

Stranger disappeared one day. Tartarus waited - days, weeks, months - it became clear that she wasnt coming back. Distraught, the fire grew again to overwhelm him - and he found himself in a completely different place. The device had activated and now Tartarus was on a completely different planet, far from anything he found familiar.

He managed to survive until the device charged again, and tried to go back home. But he only found himself on another planet, and so he managed to survive until the device charged again. Again and again the cycle continued - teleport, survive, charge, teleport. He eventually became accustomed to adapting to new environments, new cultures, new dimensions. He still couldnt control where he ended up, but he managed wherever he ended up. He was never able to find AtoTerra again, but he did find a planet similar enough to his home.
A planet called Earth.
Maybe, he could stay for a little while.

And stay he did, wandering as he always did for a few years before meeting a man called Mirage. The duo traveled together, gradually growing from strangers to friends. Tartarus was never one for friends - his drive to return to his homeworld and find Stranger has always led him to leave before he could become too attached to anyone else. But Earth was similar enough, and in fact seemed like a slightly more idealistic version of his own broken and mutated planet that he stayed much longer than he usually did - and led to a fondness for his traveling companion. He wouldnt mind staying on Earth. But of course, things have a tendency to go wrong.

Tartarus woke up in a new place, a much different place, and Mirage was nowhere to be seen. Distraught, Tartarus attempted to activate the device in a desperate bid to somehow return to Earth, but it seemed like something about the place disrupted the workings of it - it was useless to him. Instead he seemed to have developed a foreign sort of magic; something unusual to him, due to his diluted blood. Back home, only the high potency bloodlines could wield any sort of magic, and this led to the start of a severe learning curve for Tartarus.

- Dimension Hopping: [OFFLINE] Only able to do this via an implant installed in him when he was young. It requires several months to recharge after each use, unless he happens upon a particularly strong power source. The device doesnt seem to work in this new place.
- Protection Barriers: An ability completely new to Tartarus since waking up in Yggdrasil. Not proficient but learning, the size and shape of these barriers vary, from domes to shield-like to armor type. The bigger the protection barrier, the less force it will take for the barrier to break.
