Description Colored pencil on A4 recycled paper, around 5 hours.

"I LOVE ____!"
When talking to people who love birds, the most frequent thing I hear the blank filled in with is "owls" x] So I figured some more practice with owls might be a good idea!

This is a melanistic barn owl, which is essentially the opposite of an albino. It is the same condition that results in panthers, as well as a few other animals, and it can result in a very unique look. You can read more about melanism here : [link]

Good work! There is however something bothering me with the feathers below the beak. I have the feeling are stopping on his cheeks but should be all the way to his chin. Hope I make any sense al all, I have a melanistic owl in my galarie by the way . Not saying it to be annoying but I hope to make you even better. Keep up the good work!

Well, the owl I referenced had odd feathers like that, I did think it looked weird but I was trying to keep the anatomy accurate to the picture. Of course, I did change the positioning of the owl, so it may have transferred weird. Not sure. But I noticed what you are talking about.
