I took this close up in extremely low light. Luckily, my new toy handled it well even at ISO 3200. I hope you like this majestic Eurasian Eagle Owl. His eyes were so big and beautiful.Related content

I was roughly 6 feet away from it and I shot at 200mm. I cropped it a little afterwards too.

outside of a zoo, owls are rather rare around here so I'm kinda jealous you got so close!

Just a wonderful photo! The colour of its eyes is so brilliant, so vivid, it seems that they are nearer than the rest of the body, and the fact that the body is blurred emphasizes this impression. A masterly photograph.

Lovely shot, the angle is great and you really captured the golden eyes. The high ISO had very little effect on the quality of the shot, and the details look beautiful.
If I had to suggest anything, I'd try and include a bit more of the background, but I don't know what kind of environment you were in when you took it.
But overall, this is a really nice shot! Well done!

Thank you again! It was pretty dark in that exhibit, but the owl had a small ambient light above him. I had to keep the f-stop pretty wide and luckily my new toy handled the high ISO somewhat smoothly.

Such an amazing animal you have photografied. The closeness is awesome, and how you can aprecciate it's feathers is perfect. I do0 not understand a lot of photography, but I always love to see pics like this one over DA. Love this so so much!

i was hooked by the owl's eye, it give a color contrast in the photo,
and i notice that the owl was smiling!!!!
