you can change the name from .rar to .pdo, it'll work fine after doing that!

I'm having a hard time figuring out how much craft foam I need to make this set. I did the math and it turns out to be 212 pages without the mace. If I take the standard 8.5" by 11" sheet of paper and find the area, (212x0.70833x0.91667) you get 138 feet squared, which seems like its way more than you would need for a suit of armour, sword, and shield (because it is). I know I can fit the patterns better on a big sheet of foam. How do I make sure I buy enough without massively overestimating and spending too much?

Is there any way to check the scale to see whether or not it fits me? Thanks!

Well I'm about 5'8", so if you're close to that it should be alright. The best thing to do is build a simple piece and see what you think.

do you have the first download as a pdo file instead of rar? pepakura doesnt like the rar file for some reason

The .rar is a zip file that you need to unpack to get the delicious .pdo files inside.

which one is the best? the cuirass with skirt or without skirt?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Kuraudo3 In reply to Voclas [2015-04-28 20:02:44 +0000 UTC]
I think most people want the file with the skirt so they can use it for reference when they make a skirt out of leather or something (that's what I was going to do). But when it comes to building a solid chest piece I would suggest using the file that doesn't have a skirt.

thanks for the advice, because I still confuse to decide making the skirt with leather or solid foam..... XD

So awesome. Have you ever thought about doing the nightingale armor?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Kuraudo3 In reply to HidoiKoroshi [2014-10-27 20:37:27 +0000 UTC]
No, mostly because the nightingale doesn't have a lot of hard plates in it. It's mostly cloth and leather so I figured anyone wanting to make a nightingale cosplay would find other ways to do it.

Kuraudo3 In reply to jendeelinn [2014-09-24 19:51:42 +0000 UTC]
I'm really sorry, but even with the help of others I've never been able to get the PDF version to work like it should. I don't know how computer-y you are, but it should be possible to dual boot windows on your machine and install pepakura on that side. I know it's a lot of work and quite a stretch, but it is at least one option.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Kuraudo3 In reply to th3sam [2014-07-07 18:16:34 +0000 UTC]
I went back and added tabs to most of the files, but I might have missed a few. For the ones that don't have them by default you can turn them on in the options with pepakura designer.

Heeya! It's my very first time ever working with Pepakura, and I have a quick question! How can you tell if this will fit you? Before you print it out and such? Because, I wanted to make this but I have no clue what size this is going to come out as(once it's built), etc. Thanks!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Kuraudo3 In reply to Kateex0 [2014-06-24 05:23:34 +0000 UTC]
Honestly there's no way of knowing for sure. There's a tool in Pepakura Designer that tells you the distance between vertices, but even that just makes for educated guess work. I had to build some mock ups before I found the scale I needed. All of my daedric armor files are sized to fit me and I'm about 5'9".

I've built the helmet and the cuirass but I can't work out how to put the cuirass on. I'm thinking cut it down the sides and put some belt buckles on it or something but didn't know if there's a better way?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Kuraudo3 In reply to x-twist-x [2014-06-20 16:19:18 +0000 UTC]
Honestly it's a problem that I never completely solved either. I was planning on cutting it down the sides and riveting on some leather straps to be buckled together. That's the best I could ever come up with.

Where's the lioncloth and gloves? Also, I have no idea what the little blockade things in some of the armor is, so I'm just cutting them out when I make them..is this a bad idea?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
Kuraudo3 In reply to Solarclaws [2014-06-20 16:17:16 +0000 UTC]
There are a lot of extra pieces that I added for support that are meant to be cut out. And I have a file for the loincloth but it isn't included in the download. I never made the gloves because a. they were difficult and b. I haven't gotten that far in the build process yet.
