=u= Lately I'm thinking about Valerian's antics... and looking at Roman history, there's all sorts of stupid shit I could see him doing.
In pretty much any case of him saying he's going to do some ludicrous stuff is immediately followed by him actually doing it. (ala Rome and Carthage)
Valerian: "Neighboring country, if you don't submit we will burn this city to the ground and sell you all into slavery."
Neighboring Country: "Ha ha ha, we have the most important port city in the world, let's negotiate."
Neighboring Country: "...Uh, guys, wait, what are you doing?"
(paraphrased from Reddit lol)
OR
"When kidnapped by pirates, a young Julius Caesar basically took charge of the ship, ordered his captors around & even read them his poetry (while reminding them they'd be crucified afterwards, which the pirates found hilarious.) Once free he raised a navy, captured them, and had them crucified. He also found the original amount they were asking for in ransom to be insulting and convinced them to increase it."
^^^ I can very much see Val doing this
