Ah. Yeah.. Herobrine only stalks people he 'likes' FYI: his targets. And Herobrine prefer to edit the landscape, build traps, and the sort to kill his target or get them killed. He rarely physical get up to them, and such...

From what I've heard of Slenderman, he physical get up to his target and kills them in some sort of way.. But I hadn't heard much. Should do some research on him.
