What I like most is that it looks like it is both classically inspired (with the wet hair and the semi-nudity it reminds of a Venus rising from the sea, bath, oh well, from something) and there's a sublime roughness and modern attitude about the expression. Which is really uniting two things that seem impossible to unite.
The texture and background give different associations and add to the feeling of the picture.
