Description “I should never have spared you, Eric.” Angellus snarled, “I just knew that it would come back to bite me in the ass. So be it then. Let all King's City be agreed; I'm a filthy, stinking pirate wanted for attacking their precious Captain Admiral. I'm wicked, through and through. But that's fine.” a wicked, twisted thing of a grin spread across his face. “I'm probably not going to survive this fight, which means I failed in rescuing Varun.

“But!” he roared, “Hear me now, Hardanson. In the presence of a Captain Admiral and my captain, I make a promise. One that will span through the ages! Since I apparently cannot succeed, Varun, in saving you: Never again will I preform an act of kindness on faith that it won't come back to haunt me.” Angellus held his sword out, the tip level with Eric though he stood too far away to be hit if he swung. “No good deed will I do, ever again! People will die, Hardanson. Die surrounded by death and blood and fire and it will be entirely. Your. Fault.”

Whoa. When did Angellus become so melodramatic and badass?
(Lore Corsair: Strife and Mysteries)
---

YES, that scene is over-the-top melodramatic. That's what happens to me when I listen to No Good Deed. Which is basically the theme song for the entire book. Hell, my tagline for it is "No good deed goes unpunished." And the influence from the song is almost unbearably obvious in that scene, but it's the first draft so there.

Massive explaining time, since I think like three of my watchers know who this guy and that book I'm referencing is.

Remember back in 2009, when I entered National Novel Writing Month? No? Well now you know. Anywhos, I started (and finished!) the first draft of a book, "Lore Corsair: Danger Involving Pirates." A fantasty novel with a pirate crew that consists of a naga, an elf, an angel, and three humans. One of which actually got kidnapped and ended up joining the crew and becoming the captain; Varun Haul. They had a grand adventure trying to track down the mythical Fountain of Youth/Life (it kept changing as I was writing,) and there was ultimately a few deaths. I ain't spoilin' nothin'. Well, I am. But not the deaths. In the climactic battle the angel, Angellus, fought the guy that had pretty much been trolling them the whole book, Eric Hardanson, Captain Admiral of the Royal Navy. Also I know that isn't an actual rank. Shush.

Now, Angellus ended up letting Eric go, since they had people down and he himself was pretty horribly wounded. He had figured that flaunting his strength about would be enough to make Eric leave them alone. Lolno.

For last year's NaNoWriMo, I started on the sequel; "Lore Corsair: Strife and Mysteries." And in it, Eric comes back for seconds of trolling, asskicking and revenge. All of which leads up to this scene in the last chapter, where Angellus realizes that he fucked up big time by letting Eric live.

And did I mention that in the wake of events in the end of Danger Involving Pirates, Angellus can more-or-less can live forever, so he can hold true to his vow? Because he does and can.

And now you know!

Like a boss, Angellus. :'D
This is a really nice sketch! I especially like his legs, they are all long and posed and pretty. The only thing about them is the way the leg on the right is angled and bent- with the fold at the knee being where it is, it looks the like the leg isn't angled sideways, but like it's turned more towards the view, if that makes sense?
But my yammering concrit aside, I like this!
