Hey I really like this piece! The color of her hair is so vibrant that it actually feels like her hair is really moving. It also really goes along well with the blue color you chose for the sky! To say it in general, the colors fit together very well
The coloration style you chose reminds me of those that are in general drawn lineless (Like the artwork of Muramasa or Odin Sphere - check it out if you don't know what I mean I bet you'd like it! )
However I have one thing that really seems to be quite off in this work and it is what you actually focused on a little, as you said in your description - the hints of lineart.
The ones in the hair, on the dress and also the eyes. I am in no way a professional so don't take this seriously if you don't agree but I think it would have looked better without it, actually.
For the eyes or the dress for example, you could have chosen more thicker lines and with the same brush (because it looks like you did work with another brush for the linearts) so that it looks as soft as the whole piece. The lines on her neck for example fit perfectly.

Now that was my little critique xD I hope you don't mind. I just really loves this coloration style and I think you are really good at it. Maybe it's just me but it sounded a little like you forced yourself somewhat to draw linearts and if that is the case I just wanted to encourage you to draw without them if that is what you like to do.

Greetz!

Wow thank you SO MUCH for the critique I was so happy to read it!!!
I agree with you for everything you said! I don't know the examples you gave so be sure that I'll check it out!
I wanted to draw with line-art because I feel that I need to change techniques once in a while in order to improve myself and not draw like a robot. I'm too used to lineless paintings that I had to swich off the comfortable and draw with lineart.

I'm glad that you are happy about it!

Yeah I can kinda understand what lead you to that thought. If it seems easy to do something, it always seems like "to easy to be good" or something like that (at least for me). So I try new different things which is definitely important but what is even more important in my opinion is to focus on what you are good at naturally so you can conquer and master that.

I mean if lineart is what you want to include in your artwork of course you can do that and it's perfectly fine. Everythings possible in art after all. On the other side you got some linearts in your works anyways, as far as I can see. They are just not that visible so maybe you can combine these too a little bit more if you feel the need to

Usually I add line-art after the painting is almost done (I paint using one layer). I think practiving paintings with line-art helps to improve the way you color and light up your artworks in general

I see Well that's true. Lineart can be helpful and look good but that is a question of taste I guess O: I dunno for myself for example, why I'm always attracted to painting with no visible to zero lines xD

However! I hope you find a way to do the linearts you want! I wish you lots of motivation and fun

Greets, Zarras
