This is segment of the Early Access artwork from December 2020 pack:

Andy...Well, working. How's that for change? XD It only took a whole world to end, which forced him to actually seek a job.

Andy has been shown doing something related to electronics/robots before in canon as well.

In post-ap environment of that story it makes sense he would pick specialty related to that. Why not something else? Dealing with electronics is "safer", than say, guard or raider - plus Andy is mediocre gun shooter at best and his close-combat skills are more "innovative" and energetic than excellent, which means it turns to a messy scenes where everything is a weapon.
Also not everyone can work with electronics and in post-ap environment where as you can see mech-suits are present - it's valuable and rare skill, which means people like him are always in demand.
Which also means it's likely to be well-paid.~
Baxtor, on the contrast, is a raider/mercenary. Good one at that (strength + excellent shooter) , but it's less stable occupation, high-risk and... Illegal.
So Andy is wins here.
