Description They say if you can fold a 1,000 paper cranes, then you can have a wish granted...

For the 2008 Wirepop calendar.

edit: I remember reading Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes in 2nd grade and the story was the primary influence on this piece. It's an amazing story, highly recommended!

Absolutely beautiful work of art!! I remember reading the same story in 1st grade (: The only thing I remember is that the crane broke its leg. (I think, ha.)

Hello!

Two things which I want to say - 1st - it is very nice artwork. I like your choose of colours and their combination. The little boy on bacground is cute too..like he is waiting for her AND your cranes at the same time..two different sides of reality..

2nd ..could you tell me please, how did you put that line with your signature into the picture? Is it difficult to cut the underline in the place where the clothes start? Thanks a lot for your time...

Confused on the clothes, as I thought it was suppose to be chinese tradition, but maybe you blend?

Its lovely none the less....

Omg, I remember reading that book! xD

Though if I'm not mistaken, aside from the paper cranes the influence here is Chinese?

Yes, I was inspired by the Japanese legend but was more inspired by Chinese motifs.

lilsuika In reply to maiyue [2008-03-11 07:42:30 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I speak Vietnamese and a little Japanese but sadly not Chinese. I know a few Chinese words but it's not enough to be coherent. I'd like to learn, but I need to find the motivation first.
