Description Design done for the organizers of the Buses by the Big Duck VW bus camp out! As you know I own a VW bus (the one in this pic looks like mine actually LOL, just duck-i-fyed of course) and have been to over 100 campouts, I've been going since I was like 2 years old. Buses are in my blood.

This will be plastered onto T-Shirts and Sweaters and whatnot to sell and support the camp-out. Hence the watermark.

I did the Duck, rainbow background elements in Illustrator with the pen/pencil tools. UG I'm not a huge fan of vector drawing this way (I am not well versed in Illustrator yet but I know all the important main things) but it DOES have a nice look and for this graphic application it's necessary. All shading done in photoshop.

Original file is 300 DPI print quality.

Circles brushes from: [link]

The bottom swooshes were inspired by a brush from but I did not USE that brush, I made vector lines from scratch in Illustrator and did the circles different in photoshop.

Holy moley this is so cooooooooooollll! I want my Illustrator baaaaaack. It takes me forever to do any digital thing, but I loves me some Illustrator.

And I think that big duck looks fun to climb! (Though you're probably not supposed to *pout*.)

That was one awesome event, not only did it have a big duck friend, but I got most of my dreamcast games at a yard sale down the road from it. :3

Does this mean you'll be going to this one?

Duck + Bus = Win. Cause it's like a Transformer duck.

This is some excellent design! I'm loving the circulars elements in the upper right corner and the colors are just amazing. I'd wear a shirt like that.

You used Illustrator for this? We keep switching between InDesign and Illustrator in my class, but so far I'm liking InDesign more because I feel it's more user friendly. How do you personally feel about Illustrator?

Thanks ^___^ ! Nice to hear from you as well <3

Illustrator is meant for things that need to be CRISP and perfect or infinitely scale-able like logos, graphically illustrated characters for menus and T shirts, or website layouts. In Design is for layout for flatbooks and things for print. If I had to make a flatbook or a brochure, I myself would do anything that involves drawing elements FOR the layout in Illustrator, then do the layout in Photoshop or InDesign. I'm a big fan of Photoshop I like all the control I have and I know that program like the back of my hand. I am still learning InDesign but I like it and I made a spiffy Flatbook in it in no time at all, it is great for that application.

When it comes to Illustrator, I really don't like the technical way the program works, it's so inorganic. But for what it's designed for it does a great job, and how it works to do that I like as well. But I only use it when really needed....but then again most things I do don't require Illustrator, so it's all good. My brain doesn't think in vector points and curves.

Thank you for the info! I'm getting close to the end of my class, but I'm taking a lot in when it comes to Design. I even set up some of my room based on it now.

Since I haven't talked to you in a while, you haven't got to see the new incarnation of my Vaperfox costume! When you drew Vaperfox a while back, I was inspired to make my own suit and here it is! I love it!

Do you have any plans for new costumes soon?

Nice to see you are doing good! Your new suit is looking MUCH nicer, the fabric is so modeled shiny! :'D Like Panne` Velvet.

I plan to still finsh the Okami suit - hopefully for this years Otakon in August (I have just been so busy, and I have no room to work on it till the loft studio is done). I have all the materials and stuff! X3 I want to finish it so bad ;3;

After that one I want to do the NiGHTS puppet cosplay, then maybe Beelzemon or Kyubimon. :3

Thank you for my compliments on my suit! The Panne fabric (that's exactly what it is. Good job on [link] it) was a rare color I've never been able to find again. I'm so happy with it and I think it's one of my favorite costumes.

I'd love to see the final result of the Okami suit. I did like your semi-human version you posted a while back. I hope it does turn out to be a quad suit. One of these days I'd love to make one and I'd be sure to put it on deviantART when I do.

What is that about a NiGHTS puppet cosplay and Beelzemon and Kyubimon? Those sound interesting.

Wonderful Yea Panee is slightly stretchy so that would make a good form fitting suit.

This is my design for the NiGHTS costume: [link] .... And this is the Beelzemon character (he is a Digimon). [link] , [link] , [link] I was going to do him in his true (Blast Mode) form with wings, but not with the huge gun, but the little gun his tamers give him that turns INTO the big gun hehe

Ahhh someday.

Cool! Those NiGHTS and Beelzemon concepts look like something really great came come of them. I'd like to see those when you make them.
