Thank you. It is easy to be bold (or careless) in such a small painting. I find it hard, however, to scale that up into larger paintings. (And then, too, it may not scale up well...)

The more experience I get, and the more paintings I see, I am becoming more and more a fan of y our style. That is to say, capturing the shapes, values and edges in as few brush strokes as possible. You have some lovely work, keep it up!

Part of my style comes from staying within the limits of my talents and imagination -- and my attention span. That said, I think that the best of my work has a distinct look, which is something to strive for. Like you, I do try to do paint a little differently, but I seem to come back around to the familiar groove in the end. It is great that you can and are experimenting and discovering.

If staying within the limits of your talents produced such a wonderful looking gallery, I would argue it's a good place to be. We all implicitly however always come around to what comes naturally.

I will keep an eye out for more beautiful pieces added to your deviant art collection.

It tends to work for me, with the limits of my talent. I don't want to look like I'm trying very hard, because the difference would not be all that great.

Thanks. I used an orange that I never use, and an Indian yellow that I rarely use, and didn't use my favorite red gold.
