Description
A few year old shot of a leaf on the dogwood that and become entombed in ice! It ain't got cold enough to do that this year really >.<I had not touched this shot till recently and a few friends really helped me come up with ways to improve it, namely Linealonhoiden ! It wouldn't look this good without all of you! Thanks!
Let me know though if theres anything you think I could improve on as I know I need to! Just keep in mind this shot is a few years old hehe. I would request critiques but I don't got a premium. Thanks for any input!

okay...so in my notification area the icon for this deviation is obviously small and it looked totally different from what it actually is... I seriously thought you took a picture of someone wearing a full dress suit with vest and all then altered it a bit with filters.
I click it and wala... there are no clothes or people anywhere.Β
I would say the difference between the focused part of the picture plus the unfocused part is too drastic... perhaps make it a bit more subtle.. or blended in? The color weight between warm neutrals (browns and green toned gray) and cold neutrals (blue toned gray) is too even to create a specific mood so perhaps work on adjusting some of the colors? I would also suggest you give more highlight to the actual leaf but by fixing the unfocused area in the back this should help... unless you really want to add highlights you could. I would think just making the ice on the leaf a touch brighter would do the trick or making the surrounding areas directly by the leaf darker (staying with the cold blue tones).

Haha thats hysterical when that happens 
The background was not anything pretty lol so if I were to want it in focus I would of had to do it at a bit of a different angle. I do agree I could of blended it better though as I actually brightened up the leaf and ice a little. Looking back now though I could of done better on that.
When you say highlights, what exactly do you mean? Sorry.
Hopefully when I get a new camera some of these things can be fixed as well if I take a shot like this again. This shot is from like, two years ago or so and not with a great camera.

Your right honestly, even if they are older shots! I guess why I worry so much is because in the back of my head I worry it will look bad since they are old it will look like I'm not getting any better or something but thats just stupid
