Iris-less eyes. They look cool, but why the creepy?
Hands are a difficult form to convey correctly. (I've tried many times.) You showed just the fingers so that the viewer fills in the rest. Beautiful job there.
The lighting is great. Darker at the edges and "brighter" towards the focal points. The subdued colors sell the scene as this is not a happy moment; it isn't a sad moment. Also the choice in using the contrasting white to convey her blindness and the change in her hair is a superb use of the color and the brushes you used. Now that I look at it much more closely I see the hair is faintly transparent. That is another great detail that is well done.
Wow, she has a forehead. Normally I see many artists forget this detail. I think it makes her head look bigger than you (the artist) intended it to be. I am guessing but the angle and the volume of hair his forcing my mind to imagine more skull there. Either that or she is in the middle of forming a bee hive hair-do.
That is beautiful hair. Do you just practice hair for hours on end?
The sparse halo in her eyes just makes her blindness all the more apparent and creepy. The piece would have been bland (with or without irises) if it were not for those halos. I think most artists would have gone with a traditional eye but this decision is precise and striking.
