Description I did this for my friends on Facebook awhile ago, it was a posting of my favorite video game for each year since I started playing them.  Its kinda neat, as you can see the evolution of gaming, some arcade, some console, and eventually all computer (for me anyway).

You can guess which games are which.  I'll post the names in a reply below.

Here they are:

Sprint 2 (Arcade - The wheel was tough to use considering the bird's eye view.)
Mattel Electronic Football (Handheld - Yay for Starlord!)
Space Invaders (Arcade - Played this in a bowling alley that also had Centipede.)
Adventure (Atari 2600 - Did you find the secret room?)
Battlezone (Arcade - That damn missile always ended my games.)
Wizardry (Computer - Had to play this at a friend's house.)
Star Raiders (Atari 2600 - This game was a masterpiece for that platform)
Star Wars (Arcade - I ruled this game.  Once played an hour and a half on one quarter.)
Karateka (Computer - Interesting, my two runners up for this year were the arcade games Karate Champ and Kung Fu Master)
Gauntlet (Arcade - All those lost quarters....)
Metroid (Nintendo - Yes I was one of the first to discover Samus' identity)
Super Dodge Ball (Nintendo - Perhaps the greatest NES game ever.)
Tecmo Bowl (Nintendo - This game was soooooo popular in college.  Watch out for Bo Jackson - If he gets the ball, its over.)
Legend of Zelda (Nintendo - Oh, the panic whenever I had to save progress.)
Wing Commander (Computer - Still had to go to friend's computers to play this....)
Street Fighter 2 (Arcade - I played Dhalsim.  I didn't win a lot.)
Lethal Enforcers (Arcade - The last Arcade game on this list.  After this game, most video game shooters became non-precision, quarter-eating bullshit.)
Samurai Showdown (Console - Last console game on this list.)
Doom II (First FPS on this list, if you don't count Battlezone.)
Command and Conquer (This was what really shifted me to computers.)
Duke Nukem 3D (Hmmm, don't have time to play with myself....)
Star Wars: X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (Great game, but A-Wings are bullshit.)
Half-Life/Starcraft (Seriously, I could simply not choose between the two.  These games owned me.)
Unreal Tournament (Best competitive FPS ever in my opinion.  None of the expansions ever lived up to the original.)
Diablo II (Don't get me started on the sequel....)
Wizardry 8 (Kinda grindy at the beginning, but great customization)
Neverwinter Nights (This game... If they had continued to support it, I would still be playing it.  All those custom modules.)
Call of Duty (This game felt real.  Which is why I stopped playing after CoD 2, which was super-unrealistic.  In the second mission, I killed more Germans than most Divisions during WWII.)
GTA: San Andreas (I liked the previous two more than this game, but they weren't my favorite for each year.)
Dungeon Siege II (Again, I liked the first one better, but it wasn't my favorite for that year.)
Company of Heroes (Loved this game until they ruined it through patches.  IMO.)
Warcraft: Burning Crusade (Here we go....)
Wrath of the Lich King (Yep.  However... it must be mentioned, I LOVED Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, and in an alternate world where Warcraft didn't exist, this would have done the same thing to me.)
Killing Floor (The last FPS on this list.  Actually had an awesome community, which is amazing since most FPS communities are cesspools.)
World of Tanks (Haven't played this in years.... I have so many upgraded tanks sitting idle... sigh.)

If the list were to continue, it would be:
2011 - Star Wars: The Old Republic (This game had issues, but it was nice to experiment with a MMORPG that wasn't Azeroth.)
2012 - Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (It was OK.)
2013 - Marvel Heroes (Great game.  A mix of MMORPGs and Gauntlet.)
2014 - Warcraft: Warlord of Draenor (I should just make this blank.  This expac was awful and almost caused me to quit WoW.)
2015 - Marvel Heroes 2015 (Updated.  I'd like to go back to this game, but don't have the time.)
2016 - Darkest Dungeon (Very clever game.  Warning: Very Frustrating!)
2017 - Warcraft: Legion (Which thankfully doesn't suck.  Actually, DD and W:L could switch places.)

Yeah... I am an old dude.  If you couldn't guess from this list.
