Spencer was really glad to have finally met Dipper again after a couple of days of searching, but he wasn't expecting to see him with a new tag-along. Not like Spencer was entirely surprised - after all, he and Dipper only spent time together when they happened to run into each other, but it felt like forever since they had after... everything else. And it was a while since they'd seen each other when that whole mess happened, anyway.

In any case, Spencer was happy to see Dipper with another friend. A... sort of cute friend? Well, he could do without the indifferent staring, but the other wyngling - Faris Connor, as he'd introduced himself - was really, startlingly pretty.

He tried to focus on what Dipper had been saying, catching most of it subconsciously and taking a moment to piece it together before responding. "I'm glad that you've got a new friend. Since they like reading, maybe we could all sit down and talk about some of our favorite works sometime. I've been... busy, I suppose. I live in the Nook now." His smile barely lifted the corners of his mouth, strained and awkward, but he was trying - he wasn't sure what to tell Dipper, but he didn't just want to spill about everything that had happened. He felt like it might be inappropriate to do so. "My mom had to go on a business trip and she couldn't take me along, so I'm rooming here for a while. How have you been doing? Alright, I hope?"

i was extra and did a full-on response to this bc i wanted to write about spencer seeing dipper for the first time in a while (cause dipper was essentially spencer's only friend for a while and i still love drawin him)
