Negayo sempre foi uma criança mimada, príncipe de um reino prospero, ele sempre ganhava o que queria, até um dia em que ele ganhou uma fruta estranha que não devia comer, porém Negayo era muito inteligente e já sabia da existência das akuma no mi, então ele comeu na esperança de ganhar um poder incrível, porem ele ficou adulto, após isso os mimos pararam e Negayo se viu em meio a assuntos sérios como política e outros, ele não queria isso e acabou indo para o mar por simples descontentamento da situação. No mar ele aprendeu sobre humildade e valores mais importantes, se tornando um verdadeiro adulto, e uma criança pior ainda.
