Sur la version de Freeedon, un anglais natif a expliqué la tournure si ça t'intéresse :
"What are we to do?" is definitely correct, though somewhat formal (almost poetic). It carries an additional sense of "how will we deal with this serious situation and the consequences?" more than just "what specific action are we going to take?"

Un équivalent au "langage soutenu" en français, tout les exemples que j'ai trouvé au moment de ma recherche était tiré de littérature anglophone, le pire c'est que je crois avoir eut une discutions de ce genre avec mon ancien correcteur, mais j'en avais fais qu'a ma tète... je regrette un peu du coup.
