I've made an open species that I actually really like!
These are Crygros (krī-ɡrōs) A species that enjoys deep or murky waters because their eyes are sensitive to light. It doesn't hurt them they just don't like it : (
They are strictly water-based creatures but can survive out of water for about 3 days but staying out of water longer than that can be very dangerous as they will begin to dry up! The first Crygros ever seen was during a foggy day by a group of fishermen. However, when they reported what they saw, they had no evidence or photos, and the Crygros were seen as cryptids and some believe they still are. Crygros are able to rapidly adapt based on the conditions of the water, some are even known to live near volcanic waters. It's very difficult to identify genders considering all Crygros have relatively the same body shape. Crygros can average up to 5-8 feet tall standing up.
