She has a scorpion on each leg, they were painted freehand, I'll see if I have a better image somewhere and post it.

To paint lace you need to get a stipple sponge. It's a small open weave sponge like this:

Just Google 'stipple sponge'.

The technique is to paint on a thin base coat, then dip the sponge in the paint and dab a pattern over it. Works quite well.
