All entirely self taught. There are various tutorials and instructables that cover most domestic SFX techniques.

I'm sure you could do it given some time and practice. Thanks for the nice comments.

I wouldn't know where to even start. but thank you for sharing your work with the rest of us. Question, it looks like sculpting was involved. I was wondering what do you use to sculpt something that is meant to look like a body part? I'm trying to learn how to do digitigrade feet and I have the basics for the core but I have no earthly idea what I would use to build on it and give it shape. Any thoughts? I can't really find anything online. Thanks in advance,
~D

Here's the instructable for how I made all the prosthetics for the Giger images:

What did you use for the prosthetics, foam latex? And what did you use to make your molds? I'm guessing you sculpted the tail in segments, then attached them afterwards? Can't believe you got it done in only six hours! Thats impressive. The end result is very intriguing... I want to jump in there and take a closer look from all angles!

Have a look in the 'Others' gallery. All these prosthetics were made using liquid latex, not foamed, and there were no moulds for this one - it's all made by hand.
There's virtually a step by step for the entire project.
There are more images of this bodypaint in my Body Art gallery along with a couple of other prosthetic paints.

Tara chose green and yellow. I think Giger would work in any colour.

Incredible picture - very vivid colors. Very nerdish of me, and I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about, but the ovals and rib-lines on this woman remind me of a miniatures game, with this race of bugs called Tyranids. They have similar structures/markings on them.

Thanks Sophie,
I don't know Tyranids, but if you find the work reflects something you know of, then it must have worked on some level. Keep up the drawing by the way. Cool.

Amazing! I love the realistic feel of all the colors and the spinal tail! Her exelent pose is also very stunning. The whole picture works so well ^^
