Description
The Nebra Marginals are a wide rift between major constellations, filled with dim stars and corpse suns, rogue worlds, and icy belts lost in the abyss. It is said time flows differently in these parts, where the universe itself seems strangely lifeless and aged. Though the worlds of the Marginals themselves are bleak and inhospitable, there are unseen forces far greater prohibiting civilization from truly ever taking hold.
Rifts and fissures in the very fabric of space bleed exotic energies into the interstellar medium of the Marginals. Travel between worlds, where it is not rendered entirely impossible by such unnatural circumstances, is a tedious and draining affair for starships and their crews alike. Unsettling phenomena of psychic and physical nature quickly take their toll, damaging to an extent where travel through the Marginals is avoided whenever possible.
