You certainly gain a sense of grandeur from highlighting the upper parapet! I like what you've done with the shading, although as you say the vignetting is strong, enough to add banding in the sky.
The only problem I see is with the middle bottom. It feels dead and useless despite the detail. A possible solution would be an alternative crop (I'm a sucker for a square) and I think it could bring more intensity to the image.
