I do not know why I keep coming back to the use of dark backgrounds and not eye-catching color. I swear I tried to make them more vibrant!Rendered in Blender Cycles 2.71

Piers also looks fantastic here. Very strong vibe that these 2 are giving off. However that strength can turn into passion any second given the range between them. Pretty much like Yansa below me says. :3

Though they're very serious and strong in this pic-still its bear and puppy here nevertheless.
Very dangerous distance between them.....I wonder what's gonna happen next....
Really good hair and beard execution here And also their expression....they kinda warning each other about their power,but a the same time want to be in a "company" together...if you know what I mean

I really like your render style, gives a really realistic touch to them, love the skin, lighting and Chris' facial hair the most. i usually don't like haircut/style changes on them but they look so nice with these.
If you don't mind a little critique I think expressions could use more work, specially Piers' face is kinda blank here, it's Nivanfield, there should be some tension or passion, something! lol. Keep up the good work
