yes a law, Australia will not let you keep any thing that is not native to Australia........ So i am subjected to dreaming over photos on here.
There are a few over here illegally but with my large collection it is not worth the risk, National parks and wildlife randomly drop into check what you are keeping.

I keep these lovely creatures and handle them all the time, all of my enclosure have glass to view them but i do not keep it between us.
