Description The full name of this piece is 'Through The Thicket (I Saw Death)'

I had this concept of a still winter forest with the spectre of Death slowly making his way through. It didn't scan as well as I'd have liked, but what can't be cured must be endured I guess. Enjoy

I had a dream about that same place a while ago. :0 It's great I like how you've put a bit of detail in everything.

A woodcut...that's awesome, thanks. I love having a kind of old/traditional look to my work, though I can't always pull it off. Thanks Morphinebunny and Derangedartist x

Wow thanks folks, and SalFish, who has been too kind to me in her appreciation - thank you muchly. Fison - I only just saw it, and it's interesting to say the least. But alas, I admit it wasn't intentional in a metaphorical sense.

I love this piece a lot, thanks (god I need to learn a new word!) for showing a bit of your love as well

Interesting split in the woods. I see a metaphor here, intentional? Very cool.

Love it, Love it, LOVE it! It is so haunting and creepy. There is something about death on a cold and calm winter day that just screams Emily Dickinson.

...this is extraordinary---I mean this is really REALLY beautifully composed. And the purple tint truly makes this come alive, in my opinion.
Really excellent!!!!

Thanks a bunch guys, for taking time out to look and comment. Nidhokk - Atmosphere within a piece to me is, just as important as the execution. I'm glad you found it to be fitting. The pink colour in honesty was not intended to represent a mood, but hopefully add more to the atmosphere - I wanted the scene to be glowing in the evening light. Thanks again!

That's great! THe atmosphere is wonderful, and it's cool you added a pink color.
Does this color represent a certain mood or feeling in this piece?

That's awesome. Makes you wonder where he's going. Someone, perhaps, got lost in the forest, and happened upon...a den of hibernating bears! They don't wake up though, do they? Until spring? I don't know. Anyway, the kid is mauled by awakened/sleepwalking bears, and Death is moving on to the next...job. Ew, macabre.

My thoughts, anyway. It's real great to look at, you did a good job (as usual).

Frosty pinecones are my favorite bedtime snack.

Yeah that was the first scene, though I got rid of it when I realised my bear mauling drawing skills were less than adequate. Cheers Jeff
