Description
Sketches of Spot from The Good Dinosaur (which is a seriously underappreciated film, by the way). The one where he's covered in leaves was inspired by a scene in Jurassic Park III, in which Eric disguises himself with a make-shift coat of foliage. I thought it would be fun and interesting to draw out a similar idea with Spot."The Good Dinosaur" is © Pixar Animation Studios.

I can't agree more with you. There have been quite a few amazing movies I've seen this year but none of them was as good as the Good Dinosaur! After more than 6 months that the movie had been released, there wasn't even a group on here for TGD fanart (despite the contest DA held about a year ago) so I made one duh
Anyway, these sketches are really good (much better than those I did some time ago but never uploaded

Heh, thanks! To be honest, I don't really understand why it's so disliked in the first place. Apparently people didn't like the character design or something?

Mmm... it might have been because the film is a very generic one plot-wise, not to mention is was quite dramatic in tone for younger children. Additionally, after the huge success of Inside Out critics expected "better" out of Pixar. It's ridiculous, but yeah. I still think it's a great little film despite its flaws. It's not how generic the story is that matters; it's how you tell it.
