oh wow this is cool - it really looks so eerie, it fits the whole situation nicely. I think Armand cut off Nicki's hands more as a way of controlling him in general (and making him stop playing the violin all the timexD) than to protect him - he was ready enough to arrange his death after all
but well, other than the fact that I think Armand looks very tired in a sort of decaying way which is kinda hard for me to attribute to him (because I see him as very sensuous and vivid even when he is sad), I like the colors and the whole concept.

Anyway, I really like your style; it looks wonderful and so very fitting! The way you drew, colored and textured it is really cool and gives a very special kind of feeling. I really like this, and I'm looking forward to your other VC-arts : D

Ooooh okay he's HOLDING hands. I looked at your last deviation like, "wtf is he doing?" oh cool cool, I like the hands, nicely done, they look very limp and dead
I also think the brush and the way you used it with the setting work out nicely. As someone mentioned it does look Sandman-esque (one of the few comics I've ever read anything from...partly b/c of the art I'm sure). And the painting behind it seems to have a more modern energy to it despite the details from the costumes...the crosshatching just works really well to convey the lighting.
Side note- classes next week! So stoked!

Okay, the academic calendar says Wednesday is Majors Orientation Day (the day I casually walk through Tower, grab a delicious sandwich and leave), then Thursday is when classes start. Technically the semester starts Tuesday but that's just like some staff day or something.
But yeah! Hopefully we're in classes together and if not we get studios, woah.

Beautifully done! He looks just the right age and his hair is perfect! I never got the impression that Armand cared much for Nicholas, but then again all Anne Rice vampires do seem to have amazingly complex love-hate relationships with each other.

OMG YEAH its all love-hate. haha But i was thinking Armand is just all emotional because he just doesn't like anything. But then again he seems to go crushing on pretty much everyone..I dunno...but dont tell me if you know anymore about Armand's crushing I have only read the first two in the VC books!

Haha in the book Armand cut off another Vampires hands so he wouldnt kill himself. In "The Vampire Lestat" Armand is this kind of really i cant think of anyother word to describe him but "emo" vampire. So I just kind of imagined Armand sitting there all emo holding another Vampires severed hands. I dunno...
