Description I finally got around to reading “Smoke and Shadows“ by Tanya Huff, the first of a sequel trilogy to her Blood Books series. And let me tell you, it was a frickin load of awesome.

So here are some obligatory portrait doodles of Tony Foster (left) and Henry Fitzroy (right). I always liked Tony. I sort of took it personally when they wrote him out of the TV series. What’s not to like? He’s a surly, street-savvy smartass with a heart (and eyebrow ring) of gold. And then there’s Henry: bastard son of Henry the Eighth and Vancouver’s only vampire resident. They have stuff to do. Like save the world from the invasion of the bodysnatching sentient shadows. There’s also wizards involved. Really angry wizards. DUMBLEDOR!

Oh Canada, is there anything you can’t do?
Tony, Henry & Smoke and Shadows © Tanya Huff. It is just my joy to doodle them.

Awesome, though I've never imagined the Prince Of Man with Anne Rice's vampire look. Kinda imagined him with Will's look from "Shakespeare In Love" but as a red head.
Still wonderful work and I'm so glad SOMEONE did fanart

Oh, I haven't seen Shakespear in Love, though I've heard it spoken of often. I might just watch it, for the sake of getting the visual reference XD But yes, my perception of vampires will always be subconciously influence by Anne Rice. That's what I get for reading Interview with the Vampire as a 9 year old x.x

Anyway, thanks for your comments! It's always nice to get feedback from someone who's read the books!

Extremely pleased to see fan art of this series! Your versions of the boys are pretty much how I imagined them in my own head.

Whoo! Another Blood Books/Smoke and Shadows fan! I'm glad you like them. There's so little physical description of Tony that much is left up to the imagination.

Very nice sketches, both of them! I'm especially fond of the looks of Tony, he has a nice, personal face somehow and I like his nose x3 Also, drawing guys with short hair is difficult as hell and you make it look easy <3

I'm glad you like Tony. I had a very clear idea in my mind of how he looked while readnig the books (though I'm sure I've taken some artistic license somewhere). And I just realized how RARELY I ever draw guys with short hair. x.x Harder for short hair to blow epicly in the wind, I guess. XD

I approve of their double sexiness I love Tanya Huff as a writer, and I've just started reading her Blood books and want to get the Smoke ones when I'm done with the first series.

The first series I read by Tanya Huff was her Sing the Four Quarters quartet. Then the Blood Books, and now I'm on to the second book of the Smoke trilogy. XD
