A long overdue finished piece for a HeartFullOfJess.

Sometimes it is difficult to work on a piece, not because of the OCs or the idea, but just because something happens inside me and I lose track and suddenly everything comes hard. Every decision I have to make about the progress makes me work twice as hard as usual and that causes delays and a lack of motivation and such things. I love the OCs here: Kindred and Ogden are lovers who met in the swamp when Kindred needed help with her quest. Odgen is a grumpy boi, keeping everything at a distance and not letting anyone close to him. But Kindred managed to break through his walls and they fell for each other.

I really love their pure love story, so wholesome! And planned the card around that, I wanted to make a swamp-themed card because this is the place where they met and bonded. And honestly, I really love how the illustrations turned out, was so much fun to paint them! But white horses.... argh I thought I started to have more success with white horses recently, I actually painted Kindred before! But this time all the good old struggle came back with the white coat, picking the colour of the shadows and trying to make her muddy, picking the painting style, making colour decisions.... it was difficult.

Originally I wanted to cell shade them, but right after I painted the illustrations I felt like cell shading the horses would clash too much with the illustrations. So I picked soft shading. And white horses with soft shading is still an enigma for me, something I do need to work on. Also, my stupid laptop shows different hues than my XP-Pen, so annoying, gah.

I am so glad I managed to finish this piece, without killing it with my clumsiness. Oh guys, I promise I will make awesome art of you two sometime ^^'
