Wow, I'm impressed! You've done her dress and hair really well - really realistically. I like the different tones you've used in the dress. And the slightness of her figure and slimness of her arms makes her look delicate and vulnerable next to the big beast.
His fur is done very well too, like her hair, and his back legs and tail are really good. His face seems a bit less believable than the rest of the picture, perhaps because it's not based on any particular animal.
I really like the way you've taken the scene from the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast (the shape of the Beast, the ballgown, the fact that they're dancing) and made it darker and more realistic. She looks genuinely upset, and he looks quite ugly and evil. I always thought in the Disney version the beast was too good-looking. (And the Prince not very attractive at all, for that matter.)
Interesting work. I like this interpretation.

You know what I really love about this? The last time I went to Disney MGM Studios I was at "The Magic of Disney Animation", and I remember reading that the design for the beast was heavily based on a bison. The idea was that the audience would subconsciously respond to the image of an animal they were familiar with, especially one that they perceived as passive, which would make it easier to empathize with the character as the movie progressed.
Your rendition doesn't have that. He's utterly terrifying and I love that. I worship Disney, but versions like this really remind me of what makes the fairytale so great. Its such a powerful love story.

I love Beast's very kind look too, but the story was develpoed along a "horrid creature too ugly to love" idea, so he always seems better as a scary monster! lol

This is interesting - you can tell the characters depicted are supposed to represent Belle and Beast - so it's not quite fanart (in the sense it's not in the traditional Disney style). Love the hair on Belle. I'm totally amazed at the hair in general. Looking at this you can see each individual strand. Truely amazing. :]

Yeah, I wanted to create my own version with a taste of the color scheme and style used in the Disney movie. It was so well done, you can't help but picture it when you think of Beauty and the Beast!
