When Isla was a young women she lived in the Highlands of Scotland in a place called Altnaharra. During a particularly harsh winter she got caught out in a blizzard and was certain to die. However, just at the point of death an unusual creature approached her and bit her deep on the neck, then there was darkness.

When Isla awoke she found herself cold as ice, her skin pale and everything her fingers laid on froze to the touch. Now over a century later, Isla rules over this desolate area and is known by the locals as the Ice Queen.
