Description
A commission for one Mr. Rungok, this piece was an experiment with using some more...uhr, burning effect.As he hold's the blade that be merged with that of the phoenix pinion, he cuts a swath through the dark that hides his sacred muse, which has always been beside him in the form of the vermillion bird, lord of southern flame and kingdom upon high, granting him the light to see through his darkest hours. And though he may be a mere poet, he, like the phoenix that burns bright, will pass on but be reborn in the works of future poets, inspired by his work and inspiration, never realizing that they contain his spirit within the hearts of their craft.
Thus is he Suzaku, prince of the vermillion fire, set beside the roads that may be destroyed or obscured by the flame of his smoke or wrath, only to dissipate to reveal the sign of passion which stands before both him and those who follow.

As a writer, your passion for both story and creation must be stated in bold power! A power that only the fires of a phoenix can tell! Also, I made sure to turn your tool into both your weapon and main characteristic, for the pen is mightier then the sword, but what of one wielded by a dancer with muses who melds blade with that of said phoenix born of eternity? I didn't forget to also place in an emerald to state the healing qualities of insight that a story can remind people (virtues are very important symbols too 
The wings I had to trace and work on, having never done birds like this, but the head is all imagination.
Glad to see you liked it too, I tinkered around until I got the fire just right, but what makes me happy is the final touch, the kanji symbol of Passion, always remember to add the moral to a story, and a picture can tell a thousand words, thus can it be a novel needing of a good one like this.

Again, this also makes me think of the book from Fushugi Yuugi! The book of Suzaku the great Phoenix, which draws her into the whole adventure in the first place!

I've never heard of that story, what's it about? Is it a book or an anime or an art piece?

Its an anime, about a girl who finds this book about a 'mysterious play' and gets drawn into the world of the book, and told if she can gather several celestial warriors together, she can get granted whatever wish she wants.
But complications ensue. It's worth downloading if you do that stuff, or checking out your local anime store if you dont.
