Description
This is the digitally enhanced (we'll call it that today I guess) version of My Immortal. Now he looks so alone.Cain is surrounded by the pain of the chains through his wings and the smell of his own blood at all times. He is the incarnation of pain, not because he is always in that state, as he appears here, but because he knows it most intimately on all levels. Cain isolated himself throughout all of his years of learning. He was always afraid that if he really let someone love him, that they would suffer so he suffered instead.
Cain is lonely... and will not allow himself to return to the only lover he ever had because of how he wronged her.

Impressive concept!
Not the shadow or colors or the details of this artwork make me like it. The composition make all the things for it and the virtual lines for this composition are just perfect.

I actually have started to do that. It has been a long time coming though. I feel that backgrounds are my failing: like no matter what I try to get them to look the way I wish, I always would come up short and scrap the whole thing. I have begun to trust myself more. The last few pieces that I have done, Drawing Blood, My Immortal, The rise of dark Gaia, and Saved have all had backgrounds that I made instead of just altered photography. For the comics I am going to stick to this style as my husband and I have a wonderful time getting all the photos and I seem to have found a non-jarring way of integrating them into my gray scale work, but for the paintings and covers... I have tried to push myself to the next level with my new work and create everything from my twisted little head. Thank you for the advise

Thank you so much! I try to capture emotion in each piece that I create and I'm glad that I got it right in this one. It took me a LONG time to get it done, more hours than I have put into anything else to date. He is the ugliest... most beautiful character that I have created, my favorite... my big evil me. I'm so glad that you like him.

you can. I couldn't for the longest time and them forced myself to create a bunch of pieces where the skull was turned. It just takes patience. I think for some of it I would just put it down for a while and look through images here that had a similar angle. Then I could go back to mine and see what I was missing. I have confidence that you could do the same.
