For the first year (and only year) during my college degree I finally got to take a fine arts class. I took art history a few years ago but I could never get into the drawing or painting classes until this year! Now that I'm a senior I get to choose classes before everyone else and finally got to take drawing with a professor that refuses to give A's unless you draw the actual Mona Lisa or something. I'd never taken a structured art class before, I'd taken little "drawing" classes in high school but I never got grades in them or had to learn new methods. In this class I learned that I LOVE charcoal! It's so messy but the freedom that you have with where the darkness is put down is just great! I'm writing this with a huge charcoal smudge across my cheek but that's just part of it xD

For the final I got to choose whatever I wanted to draw and of course I was going to choose a horse but I wasn't sure which. I ended up deciding on Stanley because he's not going to be this color grey for long and my grandfather kinda mentioned subtly to my mom that he'd like a painting of him for Christmas so here I've drawn him and I'm killing two birds with one stone.

It's not due until Thursday so I may make some changes to it prior to turning it in but for now I feel done.
