Description
Hello everyone, before I continue to say anything else, let it to be known. With this painting uploaded, I will not be publishing anymore Spyro related work to this account. This is only suppose to be a one time thing. If you ask me for more, I'm most likely going to say no, simply because I've worked hard to keep my characters and story away from this franchise, and I don't want people getting Chronicles of the Blue Flame confused for Spyro, because they are completely un-related. So if you are here for Spyro related content, you are free to leave, because I won't be doing anymore. Although if you don't wish to, I won't order to leave my page unlike Verlisify( the true problem in the Pokemon community) who tells his fans to unsubscribe if they so much as even touch the dislike button.
Sorry, I have to make sure people get it. Now back on topic.
I'm certain there were plenty of you out there(including myself) who were very disappointed to hear that "The Legend of Spyro" 3D movie was cancelled due to Activision wanting to take the character in a new direction, which ended up becoming Skylanders. Don't get me wrong, the whole "Bring your toys to life!" concept is very smart, and it was for sure the better solution; however, when you take characters like these sta.sh/027u9cp9ssuv , characters that were part of an epic "coming of age" story with top notch writing and story telling, then transform them into this sta.sh/028tps2jsl52 I'm sorry, WHAT?! What happened here? This isn't Spyro, not even in the slightest. All they used him for was to get the franchise on its feat, and now he's just been pushed to the side like he means nothing anymore. *Note that I have not get up to date with the series because I strongly dislike the games as a whole. Seriously Activision? If you are going to purchase the rights to this character, you at least could've designed him better or made a better game.
Well, since I'm done venting, back on topic. On October 21st, "The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon" was released to the public officially 8 years ago, which I thought was pretty amazing. 8 years ago, I was in the 7th grade, and very bad at drawing. Fast forward to right now, and I'm now a student working towards his degree in Fine Arts, aiming to later go back to school for 3D animation. It's incredible how fast time flies by, and now with finer tuned skills, I felt it was time to show everyone an idea I've had for quite some time.
Now, we live in an age where video games, toys, board games, anything nostalgic is getting a shot on the big screen; from Ratchet & Clank, Max Steel, Angry Birds, Warcraft, and most recently Trolls.
9 years since "The Legend of Spyro" film was cancelled, and 2 incredible fan-films crushed under their own weight, I think it's time our favorite purple dragon got his chance, and I believe I have a concept that will please fans of the original series, the "Legend" series, and casual movie goers.
First things first, what would you say to the idea of a Spyro movie that reimagines the events of the first Spyro title for the PS1 with all the characters from first 3 games, and has the visual style and one or two characters from the "Legend" series?
I feel this could a wonderful direction for a Spyro film to go because it could please fans from the two trilogies, and for the people who don't even know who Spyro is. Since I've waited long enough, here is the basic plot..
Heroes aren't born from myths or legends, but from the decisions they make to do what is right.
One day, Spyro, a young mischievous dragon, is tasked with helping his fellow dragons prepare for the upcoming "Year of the Dragon" celebration. Only occurring every 12 years, this is the day when all the new dragon eggs hatch. When out of the blue, the villainous Gnasty Gnorc; commander of the realm's orc army, along with his evil dragon Cynder, launch their attack. With his mace, infused with dark magic, Gnasty Gnorc turns the dragon elders into crystal statues, and shrouds the realm in darkness. As all the other young dragons escape, unseen, Cynder notices that Spyro is not a statue, and attempts to capture him herself. In order to escape, Spyro flies into the closest portal he could find, with Cynder destroying it behind him, preventing him from coming back. Although he is safe, Spyro soon realizes he is now trapped in a far away realm, the likes of which he has never been to before. Shortly after his untimely arrival, Spyro, along with his dragonfly companion Sparx, are confronted by two natives; a faun named Elora, and a Cheetah named Hunter, and they inform him that he is a realm called Avalar. In order to get back to the Dragon Realms, Spyro, with the help of Elora and Hunter, embarks on an epic adventure through Avalar and its corresponding world's to find the Professor, the smartest mole in the realm. It is his hope, that the Professor can help Spyro find another portal, which will take him back to the dragon realms, in order to stop Gnasty Gnorc and Cynder, and save his friends from certain doom.
Now then, that is the basics for the idea I have for a Spyro movie. I feel very proud of this concept, and everyone I've spoken to have given it the thumbs up. I truly hope you all like or at least are interested in a film like this. And please, if want if any of you have ideas of your own, or questions, let me know in the comments down below. Even if I don't like it, I will read it because you guys are taking time out of your day to look at this post, read this long description, and type a comment. It's the least I can do.
And if you want to share this piece on social media, go right ahead, just provide credit to this account. I really want this to get noticed, not for fame but for the slight possibility of someone from Activision noticing it, and taking interest and using this idea for either a new game, or film. Activision purchased this character, and I feel he hasn't been given enough attention. Let's get them to make a change, because if Five Nights at Freddy's is getting a movie, why can't Spyro?
With this, I say Goodnight to you all. and I'll see ya when I see ya.

EDIT
=======================
Well, remember when I said I wouldn't be making anymore Spyro work? Well recently I've been working on concept sheets for some of the various characters that I decided would be in this story.
Before I say anything else, I want to give a major shoutout to and his amazing character designs in the Legend of Spyro visual style, full credit for these character sheet layouts go to him. If I hadn't seen his work, I probably wouldn't have done these. *Note* The designs here are not for any official movie, because I won't be making it. Also, I will be adding the remaining characters once I complete the remaining sheets.

you DO know that Cynder doesn't have spikes on the lower portion of her back, right? (sorry if this came off rude)

I'm aware of that. 😉 I intentionally added the spikes on her lower back to make this version of her stand out from the original. It was done for the intention of character design.

Trust me, this isn't considered rude. Pointing out things you've noticed aren't here is fine. I just didn't think to add Sly Cooper. I know that there is suppose to be a movie, but due to there not being any form of trailer or news updates, I've considered the movie to be dead.

Good poster. hopefully LoS Series will be remastered but not a games, it's a film that combined trilogies into a film.

Thank you. Although the TLoS trilogy would be cool to see as films, it most likely wouldn't work as one whole film. There is too much story to put into one film.
The LoS trilogy doesn't really need a remaster, but if spyro does get a remaster, using ideas and designs from the trilogy would be awesome.

Literally it's a reboot liked movie, but not a game again. And i think trilogy movies will be fitted. So, let's see about 20th anniversary next year

I am totally disappointed from Activision that they decided to cancel the movie to make Skylanders (why??). Although Activision is a great company, I don't think that they did the right thing. Then again, Activision is profitable company, so....
Well, I don't know what to say about this topic.... I will remain speechless.....

I agree, Activision really did screw up with Spyro. My hope is that they make up for their mistakes on Spyro's 20th anniversary

Well, I don't think they will. They'll just forget the whole thing and they'll keep making their games like the Call of Duty franchise. I actually like this franchise, but I believe that They Should Do Something to make up for what they did with the Spyro's movie.

Thank you very much. Yeah, Gnasty Gnorc was a character I thought was very under-used. Yes, he was the main antagonist of the first game, and was in A Hero's Tail, but nothing else afterward So I thought i'd bring him back

I don't think the Legend of Spyro needs a movie because the game trilogy already feels like a movie. Also, haven't you seen the reviews and box office of the Ratchet and Clank film? Chances are that this film would have the same fate.

Very true. The legend series does feel like a film, but I still think it would be very cool to see what they could do.
