Happy October, everyone! ^^

Sorry I didn't draw a whole lot of Halloween art last year. I didn't feel very inspired last year. Plus, I was busy with college related stuff, so I ended up procrastinating on doing at least one Halloween related piece. This year, I hope to get at least 3 Halloween pictures done by the end of the month (Possibly more, if I'm lucky)! To start things off, I thought I'd draw a few someone's you might recognize.

Your favorite 9 year old Goth is back and in the Halloween spirit! Here we have Marilyn and her friends dressed up and going out trick-or-treating (From Front to Back):

- First, we have Marilyn as Mavis, from the animated film, Hotel Transylvania.
- Next, we have Nathan as Wirt, from the animated mini-series, Over the Garden Wall.
- Then we have Susie as Pearl, from the Cartoon Network series, Steven Universe
- Next, we have Tuesday as Jeff the Killer, based on the internet Creepypasta of the same name.
- Finally, we have Emma as an adorable butterfly!

I'd just like to clarify that, while I am retired from writing original stories about Marilyn (For the time being), I'd still like to do small tributes to her whenever I can, especially around certain holidays like Halloween and Christmas. If I get an EXTREMELY good idea for an original story for Marilyn, then I'll draw a picture of it.

I watched the first Hotel Transylvania movie for the first time back in August when it was available On Demand (I haven't seen the sequel). I thought it was just okay. Nothing great, really. Most of the humor felt very uninspired and the overly cartoonish animation was distracting and extremely exaggerated. Mavis was the only character I legitimately cared about in the entire movie. Frankly, I think it would've been more interesting if the film focused more on the father/daughter relationship, rather than that whole "Anti-Human" plot, which felt cliché and contrived, especially for a movie about classic movie monsters. Then again, I imagine you'd have to be relatively young to get any real enjoyment out of this, hence why I decided to base Marilyn's costume on it. I really like how her Mavis costume turned out! I imagine Mary would really like Mavis. ^^

I hope to get around to watching Over the Garden Wall again this year, as one of my many traditions. I got the series on DVD last year and showed it to my parents, if some of you recall: fav.me/d9c7s78

UPDATE: Some people complained that the picture was too dark to see, so I brightened up the colors slightly. I hope it looks better now. Sorry about that.
