I basically just wanted to share this photo of me in my repaint workshop, working on a repaint of Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins. I also show here the finished repaint.
Please refer to my earlier deviation to see what the original Mary Poppins doll looked like prior to repainting.
Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

how do you take off the original paint made by the factory and replace it? O A O

i think he just paints over the original factory paint or he uses paint thinners~

I love what you do . My friend recreates and paints new limbs for war veterans and cancer patients. You could do this. They are hand painted and the colour has to match exactly.

You did a really amazing job repainting the doll. I have the same doll in the same outfit. The Jolly Holiday outfit that Julie Andrews wears in the Mary Poppins movie is my most favorite outfit.

When you do the repaint, do you put a base paint of the entire face? Or paint over whats already painted there? Just curious.
